Implementation of Integrated Cooperative Development Project (ICDP), PHASE-II.

The State of Nagaland, under the category of Cooperatively Least developed state started implementation of the NCDC Schemes for Primary Cooperative Societies from the year 1987 onwards. ICDP which is an NCDC sponsored scheme started in Nagaland during 1989.

The State Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) agreed to promote implementation of Integrated Cooperative Development Project (ICDP) in the newly created districts of Peren, Longleng and Kiphire along with Kohima and Tuensang districts for Phase-II, for which Detailed Project Report (DPR) was prepared and approved by the NCDC. . The Project Report has been prepared keeping in view the basic concept of “Producers to consumers”, whereby Agri and allied working sectors are being targeted along with other sectors for creation of infrastructure facilities like godowns, cold storage, mini-processing, cottage industries, marketing, Transport, Credit and Banking etc., so that the entire project gets streamlined and work together as a unit for augmenting the business of the societies.

After the Official launch of the project on 28^th July 2018, the implementation process was started from 1^st September 2018 with the setting up of Project Implementing Teams (PITs) in all the 5 concerned districts along with a Monitoring cell based in the HQ to oversee and assist the PITs. After the successful implementation of the First year phase, Second year implementation was initiated from October 2019 and release of financial assistance started from 1^st March 2020 with the following numbers of cooperative societies being assisted with a total cost of Rs. 2066.61 Lakhs

The 3^rd year ICDP was officially launched on July 2020 and issue of application forms started from 1^st August 2020. Release of financial assistance is scheduled to be started from March 2021. The outlay of 3rd year implementation for respective five (5) districts are as under:-
