THE NAGALAND STATE COOP. UNION (NSCU) DIMAPUR:
The Nagaland State Cooperative Union (NSCU) Dimapur is an Apex Level Non-Trading Cooperative Educational and Training Institution, established under the sponsorship of the State Cooperative Department in the year 1967. The main objective of establishing NSCU is to impart Cooperative Education and Training to the members, Board of Directors of the Cooperatives, prospective members and employees of Cooperative Societies. It has been universally recognized that the success and growth of Cooperative sector depends on continuous Education and Training as per the Principles of Cooperation formulated by International Cooperative Alliance (ICA). Hence Cooperative Education and Training become pre-requisite for the success and growth of Cooperatives. In view of the Changing economic environment, constant review of Cooperative Education and Training is a must to make all sectors of cooperators more efficient and effective to compete with private sectors.
OBJECTIVES :-
The main aims and objectives of NSCU are: –
- To impart Cooperative education, training and information to the Cooperatives and to act as coordinating agency on all matters pertaining to cooperative education as per the 5th Principle of Cooperation.
- To develop inter Cooperative relationship and help in coordinated functioning of the cooperative movement in various sectors.
- To convene and conduct State level Seminars, Conferences, Exhibitions, Publishing of literatures, Periodicals, Pamphlets etc. on Cooperation.
In furtherance of its objectives, NSCU has to organize and impart continuous Education, Training and information to Members, Board of Directors, Employees of Cooperative Societies and Prospective members to upgrade their skills and abilities to perform their duties and responsibilities in proper way which will help in uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the people from the grass root level.
ADMINISTRATION :-
The administrative setup of the NSCU consist of 14 Board of Directors elected from the districts. The office is managed by the Chief Executive Officer, Shri Temjen Longkumer Addl. RCS (attached to NSCU from Cooperation Department).
Due to paucity of fund and shortage of manpower in the Union (NSCU), the organization is utilizing the officials of the Cooperative Department and prominent Cooperators for imparting Cooperative education and for holding seminars and awareness programs with its limited resources. The NSCU has got full man power fund requirement from the department as it was received by all states cooperative unions.
The NSCU celebrated the 67th All India Cooperative week with the main theme “COVID PANDEMIC-ATMA NIRBHAR BHARAT COOPERATIVE” From 14th to 20th November 2020.
